Zatanna vs Brother Night
Its time for a confrontation between Zee and Brother Night.
Pros:
This issue had a good pace to the action. The battle with Brother Blood's minions against Zatanna was something needed again as it was both comical and that she easily took down Blood's minions. There's also another scene worth a chuckle with Zee turning one of her assistants into herself in disguise for her show.
Again, Stephane Roux's artwork is great. The cover has that dark feel as Brother Blood is on the cover. I love the different colors when it comes to the magic aspect. Although I thought the eyeliner was a bit too much, it does the job of showing Zatanna's emotions when it comes to her father.
Cons:
In a way, this issue went by too fast. While I liked how Zatara was being controlled by Blood, and that the use of the Gremlin from last issue to break him free from Blood's control was a nice touch, it was just too fast for me, as I wanted to see more of a battle between Zatanna and either Blood or Zatara. Also, compared to the very first issue, like the last issue, Brother Blood still doesn't come off as much of a threat as he says to be.
Overall: While its not Paul Dini's best writing, this was a good conclusion to this first arc. Next issue has Zee going to sin city of Las Vegas , so that should provide an interesting experience.
