    Zatanna vs Brother Night

Its time for a confrontation between Zee and Brother Night.

    Pros:

This issue had a good pace to the action. The battle with Brother Blood's minions against Zatanna was something needed again as it was both comical and that she easily took down Blood's minions. There's also another scene worth a chuckle with Zee turning one of her assistants into herself in disguise for her show.

Again, Stephane Roux's artwork is great. The cover has that dark feel as Brother Blood is on the cover. I love the different colors when it comes to the magic aspect. Although I thought the eyeliner was a bit too much, it does the job of showing Zatanna's emotions when it comes to her father.

    Cons:

In a way, this issue went by too fast. While I liked how Zatara was being controlled by Blood, and that the use of the Gremlin from last issue to break him free from Blood's control was a nice touch, it was just too fast for me, as I wanted to see more of a battle between Zatanna and either Blood or Zatara. Also, compared to the very first issue, like the last issue, Brother Blood still doesn't come off as much of a threat as he says to be.

Overall: While its not Paul Dini's best writing, this was a good conclusion to this first arc. Next issue has Zee going to sin city of Las Vegas , so that should provide an interesting experience.

The Good   The first thing I must say is that I love the alternate covers by Brian Bolland, IMO Zatanna looks a little creepy (but only a little) when he draws her, in general I like his style very much. One of the things I like about the Zatanna comic is that ever since it began it has been good, the story is simple and fun and it doesn't try to be an over the top comic. I liked the way her father appeared but it was a little too brief for my taste. I hope that in the future we see guest from o...

First Arc Done. Thank God!  I am not hating this series, but I am not loving it as well.  Rumor has it that the series too so long to come out because of Zatanna and were the series should be released.  The series would eventually be released here in the DCU, when her Prestige Everyday Magic was a Vertigo release.  With Levitz gone from his office job and Didio in power, Zatanna's home is permanent at the DCU.  The effect of this being a DCU book is showing early off.  This series is ...
