Proper Japanese Title: ヤングマガジンサード
Young Magazine the 3rd debuted in late 2014 as a monthly special issue of Weekly Young Magazine (from which it takes its issue numbering). Its name is a reference to the fact that Weekly Young Magazine already had an ongoing monthly special issue that had started publishing a few years earlier (Monthly Young Magazine), thus making this the third ongoing Young Magazine title at the time (there were plenty of historical Young Magazine special issues that had been ongoings).
The most striking difference between the 3rd and the other Young Magazines was the lack of gravure and a strict focus on the actual serialized manga. It also tried to break away from some common genres in Young Magazine, resulting in a different overall style. The magazine lasted until 2021 when it was ended and ongoing serializations mostly folded into Monthly Young Magazine. Some of the popular titles that transferred to Monthly after the magazine's end included Gleipnir, Candy & Cigarettes and Demi-chan wa Kataritai.
