The book opens with Alter not believing Agent 355 about there being two male astronauts about to land near them. That is until 355 confesses her love for Yorrick. Interested yet still suspicious, Alter orders her copter to land, and she makes plans with Agent 355 for the exchange.

This does not sit well with Natalya who feels Agent 355 has no right to barter the life of a Russian cosmonaut, 355 tells her she made all of her story up in order to get the Israelis to return, and they begin to prepare for the upcoming battle.

Back at the helicopter, Yorrick tries to convince the lady soldiers that Agent 355 was making up her story about the cosmonauts, which only makes Alter think that there are two men who are going to fall out of the sky. She sends two of her soldiers to follow the Americans, while she prepares to blow the spaceship out of the sky.

When that goes wrong, Alter orders her soldiers to kill the Americans, but 355 had set Natalya up as a sniper and after a few shots her soldiers give up. With the help of her second in command, Alter is also captured.

Unfortunately it may be for nothing, when they do arrive at the space capsule they find it on fire with all three astronauts inside.
