It's books like Xombi that make me love comics all over again.The GoodYou may recall the Xombi series by John Rozum and Denys Cowan that was originally published by Milestone under the DC banner back in 1994. Marantha's loose. And David aka. the Xombi is the only person to stop him. He is only supported by faith... well, that and a bunch of gun-wielding super-powered nuns.The Good:The writing. It's a rare occurence where I like reading about comic book characters talking about life and death and the philosophy and concept of each. Brutal Violence Juxtaposed by Eloquent Philosophy 0
David and friends battle Marantha, the incarnate wrath of God. We're properly introduced to our lead villain, Roland Finch. The Good Absolutely love this cover!!! I'm a big mythology buff so I like how Rozum/Frazer her designed Maranatha around the Nemean Lion. David armed with nothing but an axe running towards it with no reservations is just plain bad ass.
