Rogue: She's wallpaper to me. I never really liked her nor found her interesting. Also, her green and white costume is ugly.
Storm: Honestly, her personality is bland to me now, but I was a huge fan during the '80s-early '90s Claremont era. Her powers are very graphically impressive and fun to draw, though, which is why she seems to get shoe-horned into storylines that don't make much sense for her to be a part of. She used to be my favorite, so I am biased towards liking her.
Jean Grey: One of my favorites, mainly because she seems to have something of a personality. Grant Morrison really breathed life into her character and to me, it seemed like a rational progression. She was one of the first X-Men to 'graduate' and try to lead a normal life, which seems to be what the X-Men was about before the superheroics and strike force-heavy philosophy took over.
Psylocke: I've always been blunt that I liked her more as an English telepath and hated Jim Lee shoe-horning her into a ninja. Even her personality seemed more mature than she is in her Japanese body. I was entertained by her role in the recent X-Force series, but she's still kind of blah to me. I'm a fan of the English version; not really interested in the on-off telekinetic/telepathic/ninja composite she has become.
Emma Frost: I'm a fan. I really like her personality, and even her first appearance, when she easily defeated the X-Men with a mental bolt, showed her as a force to be reckoned with. I don't like how they have downplayed the strength of her telepathy recently and just have her stand around looking slutty and going into diamond form. She's still interesting, though, because she has a personality that most heroes don't (i.e. selfish).
Kitty Pryde: I was never a fan, actually. I also thought her relationship with Colossus was creepy given the age difference (wasn't he in his 20s when she was 15 going on 16?). Even Ninja training can't make her interesting. I know I'm in the minority here, though.
X-23: I don't like her fashion sense in the NYX series. No opinion on her personality.
Dazzler: She needs a retcon; the disco origin really holds her back, since so many writers and artists can't seem to decide if they like it or hate it. Otherwise, I kind of like the idea that she is a reluctant hero and her personality does not revolve around fighting, angst overload or complaining about her powers. This seems closer to what the X-Men should have been about rather than what they became (i.e. Mutant Avengers complete with 100+ members).
Rachel Grey: I never liked her. She also started the 'character from alternate timeline' origin, which I hate, since it's lazy and leaves us with boring characters.
Hope: Boring, bland, bothersome. Please remove her from the team ASAP.
Jubilee: She started out weak, but I admittedly enjoyed her during Generation X. It's a shame that she's a vampire now, though. It's funny to read the Phalanx Covenant, read how she was once referred to as 'potentially one of the most powerful mutants in the world' and then compare her to what she's become.
Polaris: I like her. For a similar reason to Dazzler and Jean. She had something of a life, went to graduate school, had a personality and has interesting powers. Her occasional appearances during the Classic Run was fun, as well. She actually seemed normal. At least, before the X-factor series, when the romantic triangle started.
Magik: I really like her. She was my favorite character during the original New Mutants run, I loved the Magik limited series and in general, I like how she was more mean and feisty than Wolverine was. One of my favorite images in all of comic dom is the below:
Yep, she picked up a gun and was about to blow out the Ani-Mator's brains. Then she is convinced to be "merciful" and sends the Ani-Mator to Limbo to be eaten by demons. She's one of my favorite characters! I even bought the Jim Lee artbook just because he had a full size picture of the illustration used for the Magik trading card!
