With so many good stories and such great writers creating amazing art for decades, why in the world would they want to create something new, destroying everything that has been created before.
With that being said. I understand small changes for the simplicity of filmmaking, but the X-Men have been raped now 4 times when is comes to continuity. I loved the x-men growing up. So it hurts me every time I see the legacy of greats like Clairmont being screwed over, it makes me want to drink more.
They need someone to be true to the stories. Iron Man was great. They just slightly updated the timelines to make it more current, but kept the soul of the story intact. They just need a director that has a great love for the subject material. Then, and only then, will we get a GREAT X-Men movie.
