Could we do the same for the X-men?

• 11: Hades, the dark one: Magneto or Cyclops, both would do anything to save mutantkind, they would go to the darkside.
• 10: Poseidon, god of the waters: Iceman, god of Ice=Water.
• 9: Hera, the mother the homely one: Jean Grey
• 8: Artemis, Godess of the Hunt: Danielle Moonstar
• 7: Ares, God of War: Wolverine
• 6: Hephaestus, the maker: Forge, the maker or even Beast.
• 5: Apollo, God of the sun, art: Cyclops and Havok can both absorb sunlight and fire beams
• 4: Athena, wise tactician: Sage, calm and analythic
• 3: Aphroditite, Godess of Love/Lust: Emma Frost or Psylocke are both hotter then Black Canary.
• 2: Hermes, God of Speed: Quicksilver
• 1: Dionysus, God of Party and Wine: Discoqueen Dazzler.

^ That's pretty good I might replace Storm with Professer X , Namor as Poseidon, and Cyclops with Sunspot.

@stormphoenix: I think I agree with Jean having more in common with Hera, assuming we are ignoring the horrible character traits the Greek gods were always portrayed as, specifically Hera, Zeus, Athena, etc. Athena to me is more of either Psylocke's area. Hera matches Jean in the motherly aspect like Storocks mentioned. Being second only to Zeus in the hierarchy, makes sense when you consider how she was the leading lady for a long me before her death.

I was going with Greek God Traits and powers that match the X-men. I put Jean as Athena only because she's smart she isn't exactly a battle tactician, but Jean can be wise as well.

Zeus was kind of a shitty dude. He used violence regularly to intimidate, was a known philanderer and quasi rapist, had a dislike for humans and wiped out a majority of them on one occasion, was always manipulating people.

But sure, Storm is an apt analogue for him because "Dey both do da lightning!"

Never change X-Men fans.

Zeus = Professor X (focusing on the irresponsible fatherfigure of the gods part rather then his lightning)

Poseidon = Namor

Hera = Moira McTaggert

Hades = Magneto

Apollo = Cyclops (God of Light and Justice)

Ares = Wolverine (embodiment of the brutality of war)

Hermes = Angel

Artemis = Psylocke (huntress, as a combat addict and ever present in the rougher X-Forces, I'd say Psylocke fits this mold)

Hephaestus = Forge

Athena = Emma Frost (refined strategists, contrasts with Ares)

Dionysus = Iceman (God of party, no use for anything in serious capacity)

Demeter = Storm (god of harvest and agriculture, goes hand in hand with her weather powers, also harkening back to when she spends most of her downtime in the mansion greenroom)

Besides water, give me one similarity.

Besides living in water he commands sea life, has a trident, and is royalty.

Ya got me. I meant personality and backstory wise, but ya still got me.

These pagans have little to nothing in common with mah muties, superpowers and environment match at times, that's all.

@storcks: artemisia was never an actual member of the League also I'm pretty sure Plastic Man was the leagues Dionysius.

It's kinda fun when you try it with the minor mythicals.

@stormphoenix: True. I myself focused more on Athena's warrior typing (aka battle arsenal type) and figured Psylocke would fit with heart psi bow and arrows, daggers, katanas, whips, etc.

Jean is hard to pin down. I would say Hera only in position, since nearly every story she is involved in has to do with her chasing down Zeus and his affairs, as well as cursing those who are involved. The only other story I could recall involves mutiny against Zeus with her leading. Spite everywhere. Goddess of family, marriage, and childbirth? Hah, that's a good one!

i think Jean as Hera makes way more sense than as Athena. Hera is still wise. But her jealousy-induced craziness does actually better fit Jean when she goes Phoenix much better than ever-calm Athena
