I don't see why people want to pair Iceman and Northstar together simply because they're the only notable gay characters that are around the same age. It's not like they pair off the two notable Black characters like Storm and Black Panther together.

It's usually the opposite. girls like a shaven babyface more while guys like more of a beard look. If you look at who women consider attractive, it's guys like One Direction, Justin Bieber, or babyface like Ryan Gosling.

Your point has relevance if you are crafting your message like Hollywood and are targeting a mass audience and need to appeal to everyone. Also I assume you are referencing an American audience. The X-Men tend to travel and who knows where Bearded Bobby spends his time. Other cultures have a different representation of beauty. Colossus was also rocking facial hair. Now if you are trying to target your message to find affection beard lovers might be a good demographic. I work part time at Home Depot and yesterday stopped counting at 50 bearded male / female couples. I myself can grow a bead in a week but am clean shaven. It came in white the first time I grew it out in high school lol.
