Seriously, it really suits the character best. Can't imagine Illyana getting fluffy with anyone and them living to tell the stories about her soft sides. But canonically it was never stated if that what you ask.

I don't see her getting mushy but I can see her being very toxic, full of desire, and controlling. Needing some kind of contact, but not able to connect at all. There'd be all KINDS of weird sex to boot...talking magical weird.

Whoever it was, man, woman, other, would have to either be very strong willed, yet willing to be her "beta". OR as strong as her and it would be a back and forth kind of thing, they love/hate each other and the whole "romance" would almost be a rivalry...a Game of Thrones type of deal.

Yeah...it'd be jacked up but passionate.

That being said...I have no idea WHO...and I certainly don't think she would necessarily limit herself to a BOYfriend. I'm not really the YAY lets make everything LGBT type of person...at all...but lets face it...Illyana would just not care about that type of thing most likely.

Seriously though, I have no idea what happens with most of the characters now and I suspect none of it is actually worth being mentioned or acknowledged kinda. Utopia/Extinction Team Magik - Wells'/Gillen's characterization is the definitive ones to me and that where the vibes came from. Further analyzing the character and looking for the symbolism of it, it's also the only way it should be. She was abducted as a child and her soul was literally taken from her in a hell like plane. And as we learned in Quest for Magik, it was all done in the name of love. So, this is what love should be for her - abuse, dehumanization, hell.

I'm with those who say she doesn't need to have a relationship, it just doesn't fit with her character.

I think she is starting to get to the point where a relationship would make sense. Her time in Limbo and with Belasco was a big abuse allegory. She has come quite far from someone who kept insisting she was damned and a monster.

Who that person might be, I don't know. Cant really think of anyone who I think would mesh with her personality well. She still only really opens up to Kitty and her brother.

I don't see Illyana in a romantic relationship with anyone. I think that's why people pick so many diverse matches for her. She just doesn't give any clues as to romantic attachments. Never has.
