Out of all the teams we have seen over the years, which one do you think is the most iconic?
X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13419 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
Which X-Men team is the most iconic?
Xmen TAS team
Generally, probably the one from the cartoon. I remember when I first read X-Men, I was looking forward to getting to X-Men Vol 2 for no other reason than the team matching the one from X-Men: The Animated Series, and I wasn't even a huge fan of the cartoon.
In the comics, it's probably the early one from Claremont's run that included Cyclops and Jean/the one shown above me.
@sourwolf97: I agree with you. That one.
Its the TAS team.
Theres never been a combination of X-Men (short of a group shot of all the X-Men teams together) that envokes Justice League level of recognition from people outside of the fandom like that line up in full costume.
Even the O5 and the post ANAD team dont pull the instant recognition and noteworthiness that the TAS line up does.
That said...i still think TAS was a pretty bad gateway drug for X-MEN.

Hes right, on all accounts
@sprior93: Good call.
Logan has so much sass in that Paul Smith pic.
I agree with this, even though I hate how Banshee was written out of the lineup haha. "Iconic" is hard to define, though - I grew up with the '90s/Jim Lee X-Men but the stories/lineup I remember from childhood featured the lineup below. To this day, almost every quintessential element of an X-Men team is basically in this lineup (sans Colossus, I guess) whereas there were a lot of throwaway members of the '90s lineup that do not necessarily jump to the forefront of my thoughts as necessary X-Men.

I got something for you.
At least no one is saying it's o5...
The TRUE Original Five maybe, but not the time displaced crap pieces.
But the best team might be the Giant Size X-Men or this one:
Well, yeah, but I don't really have that much positive things to say about the original original (ugh...) 5 as well, unless it's X-factor where some interesting developments were done. Regardless, at this point I must say, I'm really tired of any variety of these teams even slightly revisited. That's why I can't be excited for Gold and Blue. Same faces over and over again, that's not what I like about X-men.
