I just think it's super funny how the character has become more popular in the past three years and then marvel does a story where she finds out from her parents she isn't actually a mutant and her genetics were altered as a baby even though she thought she as mutant all this time. They should have just titled the story "actually... Fox doesn't own this character."

I don't really care for Squirrel Girl. I think someone made this thread a year ago.

I'd care more about the change if she was a prominent mutant in the X-men, but she never interacted with them, so the change didn't mean all that much to me.

Who cares she was never an x-men anyway and its not like she is actually that successful the character sold less than 15.000 issues for months now. Number 1s sell 45.000 copies by issue two she is at 24.000 and it keeps dropping. Thats how it has been with her last two series. Thats comparable to Storms or Cyclops solo. Wolverine and X-men team books are ridiculously more succesful as comics. Not to mention Deadpool. Probably doesn't help that nearly every female superhero book marvel has tries to be Squirrel Girl.

I think is better this way, I don't want to see her in the X-men, actually I don't want to see her at all.

Never cared about this character. Always thought it was a joke and my 7 year old daughter likes it.

It was clever to make the rights issue into a joke the way they did in the comic.

I could care less about the origins of the character. She seems like a good character.

I would be sad (with petty corporate shenanigans) if I wasn't so happy (she's purest turd).

I'm actually a little disappointed that Squirrel Girl is no longer a mutant. I'm also disappointed in others making fun of her because I think she's awesome.

So was it ever explained how she got her powers?

She will probably go back to being a mutant now, with the Fox purchase.
