Spider-Man's Joining The X-Men?
At the beginning of March, we saw a mysterious teaser that had a bloody X-logo with the caption "We are the X-Men." But this one with Spider-Man? He's not a mutant. He's already on the New Avengers. Then again, Wolverine is also in the New Avengers, X-Men and X-Force. Maybe it's time the other teams start pushing their presence on the X-Men. Maybe the X-Men are being more tolerable in allowing non-mutants on the team. There's also the fact that Namor is on the team. For the longest time it was argued whether or not he was an actual mutant or not.
Marvel isn't saying anything about this but you can bet there will be some sort of news next Sunday, April 18 at the X-Men panel at C2E2. Hopefully we'll get some answers as to why Spider-Man is swinging around with Psylocke. I know he just lost his job as a photographer but I don't think the X-Men offer any real type of salary.
Either way, I applaud Marvel for giving us this nice WTF moment on a Friday morning.
What do you think is going on? Should the X-Men only allow mutants on their teams? Isn't that...discrimination?
Gosh darn it! I was hoping for The Thing to join the X-Men. He would then be the only superhero to get the grandslam of being in all of Marvel's big 3 teams: Fantastic Four, Avengers, and X-Men.
I think this is an interesting idea, basically Marvel just trying to play off the new Spider-man / Wolverine team-up book. I personally think that those 2 characters have one of the best (and funniest) chemistry together.
" Seeing him on the book on a permanent basis? nah. but he should get included officially in their roster. he's teamed up with them and their various off shoots so many times he deserves the membership card more than half of the mutants do. "
But I'm intrigued to see where this is going.
sometimes what you see on the cover has nothing to do with the book or maybe its just a quest spot. You can read to much into covers, don't forget the Hulk lifts 150 billion ton mountain cover way back and not to mention I found these covers floating around so you see my point
" Next thing you know we will see X-23 on the Avengers. But on the serious side, I think this is saying that the X-Men will be joining the mainstream Marvel continuum again. With Utopia being the base, but with them actually being a major player in mainstream continuum. "Ya i could see that. good call.
its always made sense to me. THe world is against mutants and the world doesnt know how spiderman got his powers. For all the common person knows he is a mutant as well i thought it would have been cool if JJ got New York against spiderman and made him have to find shelter in utopia as well
This would be like the worst idea ever. Mutants right now are concentrated on mutant affairs and getting themselves a good lives in utopia. But who knows maybe after second coming it would all make sense, and spider-man joining the X-Men is the most logical and better way to go. Who knows...
Namor made sense, he's arugably a mutant and deserves to be consistently in a book. His character's too good to be left for occasional appearances but maybe doesnt warrant his own book at the moment.
Spider-man though??? Totally daft but I'm willing to go along for the ride, could be interesting!!!
U can argue the same with Deadpool or Spidey.
There's also the fact that Namor is on the team. For the longest time it was argued whether or not he was an actual mutant or not.
Namor was "born" with powers... and he kinda is a mutant whether u want to agree that he is or isnt...
Deadpools case is he wasnt born with the X-Gene but they did put the X-Gene on him(thank u weapon X)
same with Spidey he got bitten by a mutated spider... that passed Mutated Spider Genes on to Spidey... giving him a X Gene...
i say Spidey should Join FF next... be Fantastic Five...
plus His lifes Drama... boy will SPidey get a workout...
the HEROIC AGE IS UPON US.....we're gonna see our heroes doing heroic stuff all over the damn heroic marvel universe!!!!! We already have like 5 characters doing some serious overtime, Spidey included. What the hey EVERYONE is either an Xman or an Avenger now a days. He's such an amiable guy why can't he be one em all!!!!................In all seriousness I bet its a joke....probably has something to do with the O.M.I.T. stuff......
Seriously? Dood ain't a mutant. He got bit by a radioactive spider or whatever.
Mutants are typically BORN with their DNA already changed. Personally, doing that would take away some of the serious discussion that X-Men used to bring abo...
Ah, who am I kidding? X-Men has been crap for a while.
"how does he swing in and out of an island?
Well, Namor and Cloak & Dagger have been on Utopia, so why not Spidey...? But, how he can he be "Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man" to New Yorkers if he's swinging around a floating rock full of mutants in San Francisco Bay?
that is the question -_-'
