X-Man is irrelevant and Cable is boring that only leave the one true queen of the X-Boards:

cable is the male version of psylocke. powerful but would rather physically fight or use a gun.

rachel is my 1st marvel character favorite. i thought she looked bad ass on her hound costume. loved her revenant costume too

Never EVER liked Cable, Nate Grey ever really appealed to me, and I've always been a big fan of original Rachel...though I don't know a whole lot about "new" Rachel...so I voted Rachel for original

@heroup2112: well in the recent x-men (all girl team) she didn't use her powers much. she showed her leadership skills though. storm may have been their leader but rachel often gave orders to the team

Ye...yeah. This is pretty much what I was going to say. Although I would have said that I liked Rachel in Excalibur better because before Phoenix she was sort of whiny, but, I guess Excalibur Rachel also counts as "original Rachel"

Cable annoys me, as does Nate Grey (for different reasons though). Rachel however I genuinely like and enjoy seeing in X-Men comics, so this is a no contest for me.

Yes, IMO Excalibur Rachel is the ultimate Rachel. Yes, Gambit's ass sucks canal water. Ya can never have too many friends ;)

The way i see rachel

Pre excalibur days: lost soul

Excalibur days:she shined the brightest in this era. The phoenix was well written and explained because of her connection to it. She showed so much creativity weilding its powers. She loved her team mates. Always a hot head. Kitty kept her sane and always reminded her to keep cool. She went back to her timeline and was able to fix it.

Askani era: alone, she was forced to create her own team and lead a rebelion. She succeeded.

Marvel girl era: her tp and tk powers are stronger, apart from the phoenix. There were not much character development, just surprises on how powerful and creative she is on using her powers

X-women era: leadership and fighting skills are shown. Knocked down lots of avengers and baby xavier

Cable. I liked him in New Mutants and his solo. Rachel was okay in the 80s and Excalibur but she never appealed to me as much as Jean or other telepaths. I have not read very many X-Man comics i just have never been into him.

Issue was completely kick ass - thought he was great since, good to have a character that doesn't celebrate his enemies; but puts them down instead

Anyways as for the thread I picked Nate Grey (X-man) After having him win one of the rounds in my X-men Rumbles group. I had the pleasure of diggin deeper into his origin and character development/evolution. He has the most interesting storyline to me out if the three and his powerset at it's peak trumps both (save Rachel harnessing Phoenix). I really hope Marvel brings his character out of limbo and back in action with a better power scale than what he had pre-schism. They should still be able to incorporate him into a team book despite being a power telekinetic/telepath, since they've done it before. Sadly books are far and few for the X-men right now so I don't think we'll be seeing Nate anytime soon.

@roddy2010: I refuse to debate the awesomeness of my Rachel's trenchcoat...(though I would welcome a redesign that fits Mags team please and thank you jesus). I'll just concede that if anyone knows about a distraction it would be the 6'3" 40yr old woman who flies around in a cape and leotard held together by a metal ring. Hmph

Rachel hands down. Cable and Nate should really just be combined.

Rachel Grey-Summers.

Love her long history and how she's still a badass and one of the strongest MU characters around even without the Phoenix. Also love her much more focused TP/TK melee fighting style and having the ability to multi-task against multiple opponents as well as having a very diverse set of TK weapons and armoring.

Let's be honest here, Rachel's current uniform IS gawdawful.

As for the thread, Nate Grey. Not Kavanagh's mediocrity, but Ellis' trippy modification. I can't believe that his concept only lasted for a little more than 10 issues, to the previous skippable 60, totally imbalanced :[ Luck of the X-me(<a)n I guess.

I do like Cable and Rachel though, more than I should, considering my hatred for pulp time travel.

Rachel. I am definitely partial to men with great abs walking around, but I have always found her to be the more interesting of the three.

P.S. The picture of Rachel with her underwear visible is creepy and fanservice-y in a disturbing way - as in a "That is inappropriate for a superhero outfit and why are there embers shaped like hearts surrounding her?" sort of a way.

Getting rid of the trench coat is a step in the right direction.

@adamtrmm: Lol no not really. Im indifferent towards them. But their an identifying characteristic and give her a connection to her most important character arc. Her history and a significant part of her character motivation, perspective and personality come from those scars. They are literally the most important element and draw to the character and without them she is just another kid from the future.

Realistically speaking most of the people who read X-Men and are familiar with her from X-Men have never read Excalibur...which is most of her development and characterization. They've never read Cyclops and Phoenix or Cable and the decade worth of story and character that moved her past the initial story. So if someone says hey who is Rachel Grey? The most basic answer is to go back to her roots as a character since the most important thing shes done since moving past her roots has been overlooked completely.

Cable, but Rachel is a close second in my opinion. However Nate is pretty useless and should stay forgotten he is basically teen cable before teen cable. Also if we just talking about summer's kids one that i would like to see get to 616 and do some shit is Ruby, she looks awesome.

My favorite is the Age of Apocalypse Nate Grey. Dude was such an insane psychic, he was even able to overwhelm a psychic as immensely powerful as Legion.
