The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
Kubert... J. R is awful. The issue where Jean proposed to Scott was really creepy the way he drew it. Everything's so stiff and angular. Saw him recently in nu52 superman and it isn't any better
Depends on the story. I think I consistently like Kubert better, but JRJR has drawn some of my favorite panels in some stories. I think when he does bigger scale stuff his artwork suffers as everyone looks blocky and like a 5 year old, for example, AVX. I like his stuff in Spider-Man and Enemy of the State, which is one of my all time favorite storylines, art included. JRJR is just too hit or miss for me.
John Romita Jr was great on the Claremont run and his 90s stuff was better than Kubert's 90s stuff. Nothing he has done on X-Men has been as bad as Kubert was on Hunt for Xavier.
I love both artists, so this is a tough one for me.
John Romita Jr's later 80s art and 90s art on Uncanny was awesome, although some of his earlier 80s work was overly simplistic (probably due to the time restrictions of working on a monthly comic).
Adam's Kubert's art varied, depending on the inker assigned to an issue. His work on Wolverine vol. 2 with Mark Farmer and later Dan Green was astounding. This made me a huge fan of his. His later work on X-Men and Uncanny with inkers like Tim Townsend, in my opinion, wasn't as impressive and was often oversimplified. Even his work on Ultimate wasn't up to his initial efforts in my opinion. But his initial run was so impressive to me that he is my favourite of the two.
Let's say JRJR's art is not my cup of tea at all. Kubert's though while at times does some skippable work (and who doesn't?), but when he's at it, that very second he elevates himself to the top positions in the industry imo.
