Yesterday we got some crazy news. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen were reprising their roles as Professor X and Magneto in the sequel to X-Men: First Class. That might sound odd considering James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are returning to play those roles as well. Because the movie is called X-Men: Days of Future Past, we can assume time travel and future counterparts will be a big factor. To make things even crazier, now it sounds like Hugh Jackman will return to play Wolverine one more time.

The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog is exclusively reporting that Jackman is in negotiations to play Wolverine for seventh time (the first three X-Men films, Wolverine Origins and the cameo in First Class).

We'll have to wait and see if this all works out. We also have to wonder which other original X-Men film actors might make a return as well.

This is getting better and better.

Now if they can just cast Cyclops from the X-men movies and give him a better final movie appearance than the lame way he went out in Last Stand.

Good on them. So long as it stays an X-Men movie, and doesnt turn into a Wolverine movie, I'm cool with this.

I can't get excited for this movie knowing how butchered the story is going to be.

I remember that one xman movie when prof x and magneto reminence how their younger counterparts came from the future and they thwart some huge event from happening or how Logan didn't know who xmen where before he met rouge.

I just want a good X4 film...that's it!!!

Holly Sweet Jesus on a Pogo Stick, that would be great. An X-Men movie without Wolverine would not be a real X-Men movie.

This entire project kind of confuses me. If they are telling the story of Days of Future Past, are they then again rebooting the X-MEN story of what they did with FIRST CLASS? That film already disregards the members of the original first class with it's cast. Going from first class to the story about the future that bypasses what they did in the original trilogy is an odd choice.

They couldn't keep a straight continuity with a laser level.

I still refuse to ever watch X-MEN FIRST CLASS partly becasue of how ill cast Emma Frost was and what they did to Mystique.

I really love that Hugh Jackman is consistently playing Wolverine. I wish everyone that fit their roles so well would just stick with it.

I agree that its nice Jackman continues to play Wolverine, and its not like he is exactly desperate for roles what with Les Mis the movie and his stage stuff and other films. So thats cool.

This film sounds very... ambitious. But I was talking to my dad about it and he said it was all garbage from the beginning. So not everyone is too keen on the films.

@sentryman555: I would love to agree & maybe I do, but fuck that actor (He is alright actor). He just had to go do Superman Returns. I'm pretty sure that is why he was killed off. Good move dummy.

this is turning more into the crap the first films are and less the first class.

We know that Mr. Jackman loves his Wolverine... having the other great actors sign up is a good sign that things might be going in the right direction. And, this directer can make good things happen. "Superman Returns" did not SUCK! I am not looking forward to the new Superman movie because he is not involved. Joss and Bryan are not the only people that can put heroes on a screen... but, they do not hurt to have around!

See if they introduce cyclops into the mix it will make the first "First Class" movie seem a bit silly (using havoc instead of cyclops... wait havoc was never an x-man?). I just hope they stick to the comic storylines as close as possible. I hate when companies make a comic book film and then change everything, killing the experience for all those comic fan and followers who are the ones that most likely will see the film. ugh

PS: maybe this film will have a future deadpool, now with colososus' skin and storms weather control to go along with his cyclops eye beam, nightcrawler teleportation and baracka blades...... oh please please please :[

At least the X-Men have excellent movies to salvage the poor state the comics are in atm. A great cast and excellent source material to act as a basis from. Should be good.
