    X-Men

    Team » X-Men appears in 13419 issues.

The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.

How should the Xmen be brought into the MCU? Should they revamp the origins?

Been a while since I started a topic and seems things have been slow around here but with all the talk about "The Mutants" and Kevin Feige facing huge issues with the MCU like the death of star in Boseman, the contracts of the big stars running out and how to bring in and integrate a whole franchise just as large as anything currently in the MCU, it seems they are going to have to get very creative in order for things to make sense and overcome huge hurdles.

What's your thoughts on if the Xmen should be brought into the MCU or kept in a seperate side of the multiverse? If they are brought in, how it should be done? And will and should the origins of mutants and characters be updated and changed?

@hawk2916: truthfully.....for both cohesion and for new ground.....I think they should do a movie based on or with hints of the current Hox/PoX Era.....

Like even if it's just a movie where Krakoa is a thing....I'd like to see it. But more then that I need a movie where mutants are organized and not infighting.

The idea that mutants VS mutants would be the tenant of the MCU is kinda lame when you consider that they could have a movie that says "Even in a world where Earth's Mightiest Heroes can save the Universe....people can still be mistreated erase of how they were born".

It would actually be a mature and (strangely) controversial move for them to bring the idea of the "mutant problem" into the MCU with all the same questions it poses in the 616 about why it's OK for some people to have powers and others not....a d then contrast that with questions about society and why it's OK for say....some people to wear a black hoodie at night and others not to.....

Then let's take it to a global level and show what It means for a hated and feared people to unite....but then have the realization that as much as they may want to ignore it, they are walking nukes.

A Krakoa-esque setting could explain the absence of mutants with some telepathic mumbo jumbo to back it up. The fear of what man would do to them is a really good motivation for them to want to stay in hiding.

The problem I find with it though is that they had a first go at the whole nation of superior super-beings with Inhumans and utterly failed at it. Eternal is gonna be their second try.

Still, if they go on a more modern approach where there are two sides arguing about the issue of mutant freedom, rather than a united hatred for a species, it can possibly work. So long as we see actual ramifications beyond blind hate. I mean, true there is nothing rational about bigotry, but there is always a flip switched that prompts a person to act.

Honestly they could have always been around just hidden from the mass public by a part of the government. Add in the fact that they can say there is less than 1000 Mutants in the world and those with the X gene aren't being triggered at a rate of concern. explain that it was in the best interest of the government to keep the mutant secret so that there wouldn't be public hysteria. However they could have the mutants tired of being hidden away and want to go and use the Avengers as an example as the would is read for superpowered beings.

100% can keep the tension between the general public and mutants. Doesn't have to be the exact same as the comics. Should start subtle then eventually grow.

Should Wanda be the one who participate in their origins?

I think a reverse House of M. Find out that the universe was 'split' by a combination of Doom, Strange and Wanda, and now they have to piece it back together.

Allows for recasting, but taking the bits they want to keep.

@EvilTyger: hmmm.....a universal split?? That's kind of interesting. So do you mean like a Secret Wars type thing?
