You should check it out, it's an amazing story. Basically Now if I recall correctly, Mr Sinister used his illusion powers to make the X-Men look like Super villains. Logan thought the illusions had killed his teammates so he killed them in a fit of rage. Then they all died and the illusion faded and he saw that he just slaughtered every X-man. So he went into exile and the real super villains basically destroyed the world in a battle with the rest of the surviving heroes and since the X-Men weren't there to help, it was a stale mate war via death of everybody. Then Hulk, now evil, became a "gang leader" and had sex with She-Hulk and made incestuous off spring and they killed Logan's family so he became Old Man Logan and seized the day. REALLY great story. Continues, somewhat, in Mark Millars Fantastic Four run.

EDIT: It wasn't Mr Sinister, it was Mysterio who made the illusion.

Lol yeah. Its pretty ridiculous premise. Wolverine ain't that good. The story itself is not that bad. I do think its overhyped and certainly not the best Wolverine story ever that some people try and make it out to be. It would have been more believable if he just had killed all the kids or something or if somebody like Magik had gone dark and done it and got the drop on her and killed and retired but the idea of 1 vs 40 or 50...... Yeah I can certainly sympathize with anyone having trouble with that concept

When Mark Millar writes wolverine he always makes him seem over powered. In public enemy he said wolverine killed a thousand people in one day.

he wasn't that op. he turned off wolvie's since of smell. that shouldn't have worked. wolvie still has excellent senses. he can identify his team mates by sense. however, i guess u have to just go with it.

I just went back to when he killed Northstar, and he literally walks into the mansion with a bomb. Holds Rachel hostage. And walks her to Cerebro without the telepath using her TELEPATHY to warn anyone.

Then he sneaks past every single X-Man in the mansion (in 2005 that's like 40 people plus students), To jump Kitty Pryde (a F&$%ING NINJA!) who phases, and he instead stabs Northstar....A F%&#ING SPEEDSTER!!!

Wolverine solos would have him beat Superman in a fist fight.

It's just suspension of disbelief taxed to the limits.

He was able to kill all the X-Men because reasons.

Perhaps Mysterio was using his illusion powers on the other x-men as well making them all fight each other, but unlike Wolverine they are trained to incapacitate rather than kill. So all the actual killing was done by a berserker rage fuelled Logan.
