Ok, so we all know that Fox owns the movie rights for X-Men and Fantastic Four, right? After DoFP the X-Men films experienced a soft reboot and the F4 series is being rebooted soon. I think this presents a perfect opportunity to combine the universes. Maybe some consequences of the new X-Men timeline, from DoFP or Apocalypse, resulted in the F4 being born in the same universe as mutants? Also, since I doubt these films are going to be period pieces like X-men atm, the original cast could make cameos in F4???
X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13416 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
Fox shared universe -crackpot theory
No thanks. I prefer the X-Men in their own universe...besides, the Fantastic Four are usually celebrities and it would be strange if they were treated as such and mutants were still treated as second class citizens.
Thats pretty much how it is in the comics though
Kind of. In the comics the public knows the Fan Fours origins and they are really not a threat to the general public due to being unable to control their powers like some mutants.

Yeah exactly. In the films, mutants still aren't publicly liked as far as we know so the contrast between them and the F4 would be cool IMO.
I found an article from The Hollywood Reporter where they ask writer/producer for DoFP, Simon Kinberg, about the possibility of a crossover between the two franchises. His answer is pretty interesting...
"In the world of Marvel Studios and everything they're doing that we've been inspired by, anything is possible. I would say purely as a fan of comics and these film franchises, I would love to see it, but it has challenges. The Fantastic Four live in a world where they are fantastic because they are the only people who have super powers. If they were to live in a world full of mutants, they would kind of just be four more mutants. In the X-Men movies, we have never acknowledged a public team of superheroes called the Fantastic Four who live in New York City, even though Charles' mansion is in Westchester, not so far form the city."
He's brings up a good point about how the two franchises don't really mesh together that well. It would be a bit odd to have one group of super-humans feared and hated while another is loved and celebrated as heroes.
One could easily argue that the Fantastic Four got their powers from an accident, while Mutants are born that way.But it should be noted that while yes, Mutants are born with their powers, it was revealed in First Class that those same powers were brought about through the creation of atomic weapons, which "activated" the Mutant gene.
Because of that revelation, you could now argue that Mutants and their powers are the fault of the government, who's action with the creation of the atomic bomb in WWII and the further use of nuclear energy caused them to gain their powers. Ultimately, Mutants could claim that they are accidents and are wrongfully being punished for something that was caused by outside forces.
as long as they continue to make great movies i dont give a crap if they're in the same canon or not tbh.
though i guess it would be fun to see Galactus vs everyone :p. they'd need a big vacuum.

Personally, I prefer the X-Men in their own universe. I feel their struggle works better when Mutants are the only super-humans and makes their fight for equality more meaningful. Having other super-humans who aren't Mutants, I feel, would take away from what makes that struggle meaningful.
Not to mention, Fox can barely give all of the X-Men characters a good amount of screen time to begin with, so I don't see adding a whole other group of heroes into the mix helping. lol
@war_killer: I can see that. I personally feel like F4 would be better crossed over with Spidey anyway.
Either way I don't care. They just made a very good movie. Continue to do that and whatever is fine.

Agreed on both points.
First Class was a great start, moving the franchise back to what made X1 and X2 great, and DoFP did that even better. Hopefully X-Men: Apocalypse will continue this string of good X-Movies.
I just want to point out that during much of the Claremont age of X men (70,80 and even 90) the X men did several Cross overs with Spiderman and the Fantastic Four (even having mutant children) sooo a cross over would be good and i dont think the whole love teh FF and hate mutants is stupid. The ff is just four people, if you can control them then its all good you can trust a person, i trust alot of people. But mutants could be anyone, the idea that ANYONE no matter who they are will get powers well its a good chance some crazy fucker (like magneto) will eventually get powers cause its something you cant control or stop from happening its not a one time thing that happened to people that you trust type of thing
