Forget Iraq and North Korea....This uber team is really like the U.S. military

They are out there to put fear into other countries and defend the homeland at the same time.

A show of force... fear= respect. You see our army, don't mess w/ the U.S.A

Biggest baddest team on the planet= Biggest baddest army on the planet

Some people think they are heroes, others think they are oppressors..just depends on your point of view

    One person's terrorist =another person's freedom fighter

just my humble opinion of course

    - I kind of agree

    - Cyclops seems to be tired of waiting for the powers that be in the world to give the X-Men a seat at the table and instead wants to force them into it.

    - It is a very high risk maneuver, and some of the names on the team (Magneto, Namor) are sure to not only cause fear, but also make trust in the team debatable.

    - As a team alone they are a massive power, but in the grand scheme of the Marvel U they can be taken down just like any prior X-Team. If Cyclops continues on the ego trip he has been shown (especially in his dialogue from UXM 1) the already nervous humanity is going to act badly (based on prior events) and in any end scenario the X-Men lose, they cannot take on the world alone

Yup, I agree... it is a very high risk maneuver, especially if Scott can't control his very volatile teammates. The moment they cross the line they are in deep trouble w/ CAP calling in a butt load of heroes to try and stop them.

As far as threats go, written w/o pis the only official team that should give them trouble are the Annihilators. But of course 9 individuals against a the whole world and every hero out there will totally overwhelm even a team this powerful.

that sounds like a very accurate depiction, however the reality is every nation acts in their own self interest and that includes national security. So yes it is like the us military, but its more like any nation establishing their reputation in the international arena. Quik question, what the hell is that robot thing sitting int he park any way, what issue or series was that...???

@abdolhalim: Yup i agree all of the world's armies do it. The only difference is the raw power that this Extinction team and the u.s. army posses compared to their peers. It's Tiamut the dreaming Celestial..he's not actually a robot. He's kinda like a space god like Galactus..

maybe utopia = iraq or israel (being surrounded by not so friendly neighbors or nk) with the might of the u.s. military backing them up..lol
