I hate Xavier. I think he's a uppity know it all character that's not interesting in less he's a villain. I actually dropped Astonishing X-men because of his return (unfortunate because it was the best X-book) but it had to be done I just can't stand Xavier. Does anybody here really even like him?
X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13416 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
Does anybody here actually like Charles Xavier?
He honestly should have stayed dead the first time they killed him in the 60s. Future writers would always have to find a way to write him out or de power him due to him being so powerful.
I reckon he was a great mentorship character once, and was really brought to life with Patrick Stewarts movie version.
As the mentor character, they either had to tarnish his morality or eventually replace him. They've done both on and off, though bringing him back temporarily through time travel shenanigans and now by supplanting Fantomex seems kind of meh. They've just spent way too much time killing off characters and bringing them back that the spectacle doesn't hold as much weight any more.
As for whether I liked him, he was a good background character. He could cheese every fight if they let him, though at the very least having someone elses body may mean he doesn't retain the full scope of his powers.
Xavier is... complicated. I like what he represented and I liked how, as Magneto put it, their petty fighting became obsolete. I think AvX could've been a great excuse to phase him and Magneto out and have them replaced by a new dynamic, like with Scott, but... they screwed that up in a million ways.
I'll admit that some part of me is excited to have him and Jean back though, if only so that one of them can confront the other X-Men on what utter hypocritical dips***s they've been since AvX.
I like Xavier ok. But at this point is he really necessary...No. I kinda prefer him as a martyr but not how they killed him off. I agree that he should have died a long long time ago and having his original team still fighting for his ideals and trying to push that forward while still honoring their mentor has a lot of potential that's been wasted. I would be cool if after dying he or his consciousness still existed on the astral plane and maybe he could be consulted there but other than that, let him go.
That said I'm not terribly sad to see him back especially since it means Fantomex is gone. I could only wish that Fantomex is gone forever but I know like the common cold and the cockroach he'll be back.
Nah. I don't care much for him. I mean I like him much better than Cyclops--who I outright hate--but I can definitely live without him. I'm more of a Magneto guy anyway lol.

After Dark phoenix i think everyone will hate/dislike him.
Hmmm... Even Magneto and Mystique are villains but they're being liked.
I think it might've been interesting if his death was actually a violent death in the hands of homo sapiens. Considering his dream, that would've served as a cruel irony.

That would be the end of x-men though.
X-men:The end.

I think it would be more interesting if he gave up the dream and becomes a villain.

Yes,onslaught.

Oh, I forgot about Onslaught
But like I said on a different thread, if he is still in fantomex body, that would be a great opportunity to write him as courting Jean
Logan will just kill X.But he can't kill onslaught.
Logan wouldn't do that.
@jhazzroucher: For jeanie,yes he can.

i know too right? : )
He is creepy and obnoxiously too melodramatic.
I don't want that kind of emotion-based person as a leader.
He is a good villain though.
A sex-depraved, sociopathic sex maniac serial pedophile rapist...
I think its suits him pretty well with his creepy melodramatic personality as he fits the profile of a pedophile priest

Really?
I mean the Prof loves to collect abused children, put them in a dark creepy mansion, and at one point lusted after one of them.
His annoying know-it-all moral preachings and emusculated physiques makes him creepy priesty pedophiley if you ask me.

Hmmm. Your taking it negatively.
He is not creepy but deeply concerned about the fate of the mutants and how humans would treat them.
He is not a villain. He is a hero.

What you said is true but that doesn't mean it's not harsh.
Let's say it's harsh truth.
