That is a good question. All things considered, there have been whispers of this Fox-Disney deal, but no one believed it, so they could have been getting ready.

That said, Rosenberg was the one that came up with the story, so that leaves some room for speculation since it didn’t sound like anyone proposed bringing her back beyond him, at least that is what I took from the way he spoke of how he came up with Jeans resurrection.

Partially, but generally I feel like it was more because marvels sales were failing and they thought bringing back a very well known face from a while ago would help and signal how they totally would try the x-men more again(and therefore acknowledging they intentionally neglected them. Ugh, comic companies need to stop thinking they can tell people what to read. It did not work woth the new52 and never will work).
