Looking at today’s issue of X-Men: Gold, it looks like Mesmero is a contributor of her falling on the road to becoming the Hound.

@koays: So we went from Rachel using a name to honoring her mother to a new name that means arousing admiration and respect from others (which people oddly and ironically hated) to the name of dog breed. This would’ve been all to easy a target for Sprior if they were here.
