It's the Quietly/Morrison version of Wolverine. You can see his dog tags and he's really short. Shaw is like 6'3".

This poster just confuses the shit it out of me and sort of depresses me. I was kind of hoping Hickman would write a solid X-men story and not some alternate reality/alternate version hijinks. Though, there is not enough information to really go on so I will remain cautiously optimistic.

Also, Magik seems to be fused with Dani Moonstar (same hair) and Nightcrawler seems to be fused with Gambit (red eyes, brown hair)

Yeah, It seems it's Dani, Magik and Colossus all fused into one being. Though Magik has been able to take an armored form before, and it's been canonized that they both draw their armor from another dimension or whatever so, it could just be Magik with her brother's armor form.

The reason I assume it's Gambit was well, he looks more like Gambit than he does any version of Azazel, and he is flanked by Storm, who was a child when he first appeared and teamed with her, and of course while not his weapon of choice Gambit is skilled with a rapier type fencing sword. He used one in the battle with his brother.

I don't think this is in any way indicative of the X-Men lineup we are going to be getting. Not literally anyway. I see several characters being repeated, and obviously many seem to be plucked from different eras and even alternate realities. I don't know what Hickman has planned, but I'm hoping he's about to do the impossible, and through some serious research and retconning, start making sense of all the alternate timeline nonsense the X-Men have put themselves through and finally streamline the hell out of the X-Men. Perhaps taking his famed "long game" approach but in this case, reverse engineer it through cleverly selected bits of past story arcs.

The image is confusing as all hell (X-Baby Havok??) and perhaps its really there to serve the community. To keep us guessing and discussing. All i can say is...

Hell yeah Hickman!!! We hoped. We wished. And perhaps thanks to Disney acquiring Fox, the X-Men have finally caught a break and seem to be getting the star treatment from Marvel editorial.

Truly exciting days ahead.
