    a very special (staircase) episode

first up is Rachels coming to terms with Scott and Emma. i can see the appeal of Emma stirring things up, but i dont like the tone or trajectory the relationship has taken in the course of her being around. havent read her solo offerings though, so im biased to a fault. still think she would be a greater addition as someone just outta Scotts grasp. this is about Rachel though, as ive said - and she handles it better than i do..which makes it an ok story. the convo between Havok and Rachel is nice though. mostly to the point that these 2 characters have been stranded out in the space epics. they represent well for the mutant set, and someone from this set has to confront the 3rd Summers brother. theyve missed alot back on earth though. up next is a really great New Mutants flashback. the kids(as they were once) are draw like kids. and the story follows the follies of their youth. its cute and funny, with great characterization. better than the first story by a nice margin. the drama is the A-game in the mutant saga though, i can admit.
