Back to comics after 18 years....help!!

I'm pretty sure I've done this wrong so apologies first off- I can't seem to write on a thread? I've recently taken out a subscription with marvel unlimited - after all the recent movies I wanted to try comics again after a long time away! I've read through house of M , annihilation , civil war - when I was younger my favourites were x-men but I must admit I've made use of marvel unlimited and read a bit of avengers, deadpool and punisher. Also enjoyed Spider-Man when he's cropped up. Really enjoyed the guardians of the galaxy movie - Basically I'm lost with where to go! Any ideas? Also is there an ongoing series rather than a big event that would cover most of these characters? Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to help out- until then il just keep reading :-)
