X-Men: Legacy #7 Review

X-Men: Legacy #7 Review

Legion takes matters into his own hands as he tracks down Luca’s predictions.

The Good:

The story is pretty good. The consistent portrayal and evolution of Legion’s control over his powers is a high point of the series and here he is shown as not only powerful but smart too. His continuing and changing revolution with Blindfold is entertaining. Legion has a very sarcastic sense of humor and uses a lot of figures of speech, both of which land him in an awkward place with Blindfold and it is pretty funny.

Simon Spurrier continues to write an interesting story around a complex character and make it interesting. He does a particularly good job with Legion and clearly sarcastic sense of humor. He also showcases that legion is more than a one trick pony that has powers but can’t use them; he shows that Legion is smart too and it is refreshing to see.

Tan Eng Huat returns to draw the issue and it looks better than before. I can’t quite put my finger on it but the art looks really good her even with his more abstract style.

The Bad:

Nothing major here, the crazy cult of mutant haters is a bit of an over done subject but it gets the job done.

A solid issue that shows Legion using his brain instead of his brawn for a change of pace works out well. Spurrier and Huat deliver a good issue that moves the plot of the whole story arc forward and opening up and interesting dynamic between Blindfold and Legion that is sure to be as funny as it is unexpected.

These X-Men Legacy covers are consistently gorgeous, mind blowing, and surreal. Also on the art front, I'm super excited to see Tan Eng Huat returning. Molina's art was serviceable, but just didn't have the same 'kick' to it that Huat's has. His art is just bursting with personality. Brilliant vibrant colors, very animated and fluid motion, wild surreal elements; it's just perfect for this kind of series and I'm so d...
