Saw it last night and it was pretty good. I think its the best Marvel has made apart from X2 and maybe The Hulk (2003). Might see it again.
Anyone else agrees?
X-Men: First Class
Movie » X-Men: First Class released on June 03, 2011.
At a time when the world was first learning of mutants, Professor Xavier created a school where young mutants could learn to use their powers to help protect a world that hates and fears them. What adventures will the first class of X-Men face?
X Men: First Class best Marvel film to date?
One problem with this statement above...The Hulk of 2003 was atrociousness
That movie was completely ass...
I think Iron Man was the best film overall, but Thor was close, and Thor had way more room to fail. I mean Iron Man, Tony Stark, Robert Downey Junior. You'd have to be like the Matt fraction of the movie making directing world to screw that up. Not a simple character, but played simply, still very entertaining. Now I say Thor was great. Especially if you were sorta expecting it to flop, and not be so good. First Class. Effin aye, was a bit rough around the edges, some scenes seemed force, some parts were a bit cheesy and cliche, but holy hell Magneto and Xavier roles. Really made an average to good movie, amazing and excellent. Mystique role as well. Strong character driven movie, plot not as tight but yeah. I'd say those three are the gems in the Marvel movie crown.
I enjoyed IronMan the most, as I am sure most people did.
IronMan
X 1 & 2
Thor
X First Class
In that order, and don't get me started on Elektra, Spider-Man 3 and Wolverine Origins

I actually don't think this one was better than either of the Ironman movies, or the incredible hulk. Which tie for the best imo.
I'm hard pressed to choose between the first X-men or the 2008 Hulk. Spider-man 2 would be in the running but the power loss subplot irked me.
It was the best Fox super hero movie so far but I liked the Incredible Hulk, Iron Man and Thor much better
First Class gets more credit than it deserves a lot of the time. It was good but to say it was the best? I dunno', man.
Being better than the other 3 movies doesn't seem that hard IMO. The first one was good as a start, but not great, the second was much better, the third was kind of bad, then this was really good. My main problem though is that it doesn't stick to the story at all and leaves me very confused.
In the last stand Eric and Charles are seen recruiting Jean together, and during that time Charles was still walking. Then on top of that there's beast being close in age to Charles and Eric, but he should be at least be a good 10 years younger than both of them. Havok was an exception, but I thought it was totally stupid if you know who the character is to have him be so much older than Scott (who he should be younger than) and then doing the hula dance to fire off his blasts. Another problem is both Scott and Ororo are shown looking at least 10 years old in, but the movie took place in the 60's they should either not even be born at the time or they should be babies. The last of the many problems with this movie's continuity is that I can think of is that Eric stated that he and Charles built cerebro together, but in this movie it is Hank that created it.
These aren't things that ruin the movie for me, becaue I still thought it was really good, but I think that they should've at least taken the time out fix the problems with the many contradictions that are in this movie.
First Class only further butchered continuity. I came home and watched X-Men on Netflix after seeing First Class and there's so many things wrong just between First Class and the first movie that I kept yelling at the movie to stop being wrong. Like how Xavier claims he met Magneto when he was 17 and how Xavier fails to know about Magneto's helmet just to name a few. Even between First Class and Wolverine which is supposed to be set after First Class there's a bunch of contradictions, like the fact that Emma Frost is a child in Wolverine's movie and grown in First Class.

I was too busy enjoying the film for what it was.
Am I the only one thinking that Iron Man 2 was better than the first movie?Iron Man 2 equally as good as the first just in different ways, the first was great on character development and story and the second was great on action and had a much better villain
I dunno. It ruined continuity of the real BEST.... Wolverine! Nyehehehe! Kidding of course. The real best is the 90's Captain America. :D
i actually disliked the movie...A LOT to me its FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR from the best Marvel movie, my favorites are
1. Iron Man
2. X2
3 Spider-Man 2
4 Spider-Man
5 x-Men
6- the newest Hulk one
The best marvel movies to date (though they all are pretty cheesy and meh)
1. Iron Man 2
2. Hulk 2008
3. Iron Man
4. Elektra
5. Thor
1. Iron Man
2. X-Men: First Class
3. Thor
4. The Incredible Hulk
5. Toss up between Spider-Man: 2 and Iron Man 2

@iLLituracy: yeah that's why its just best to look at X-Men: First Class as a reboot.Until the next movie where they butcher continuity again? Nah. Pass.
@JediXMan said:I simply can't think of a good part. Action wasn't even that good. And Hulk just looked incredibly stupid; far too bright.@mark5 said:What was horrible about it? @mark5 said:I never asked what was good, i asked what was bad. Hulk too bright? Yeah the CGI wasn't too good on Hulk but that doesn't ruin a movie. Look at the direction, editing, script, cinematography, score, set, and the sheer emotion put into the Bruce/Hulk persona. Too many good things were done in that film for anyone to dismiss it. It had the best montage editing i've seen in a film apart from Requiem for a dream.@JediXMan said:I simply can't think of a good part. Action wasn't even that good. It just seemed all over the place, and the whole thing with Absorbing Man just felt awkward.
It's been awhile since I saw it. I might see it again just to refresh my self with my reasons. I've seen it twice: the initial time, and a few years later when it was given to me as a gift. I watched it again to see if my opinion had changed, and it had not.

The film itself shows its possible for an superhero film to have significant depth in it apart form mindless action. It really made me understand and get some insight into a character i would otherwise not care about.

But honestly, I felt a lot more satisfied with the new movie.
