They Should Have Picked A Team With Less History

There's no denying there's some talent behind X-Men: First Class; it's just that it's talent that's being mis-utilized. In this issue the X-Men meet Machine Man, and there's an attempt to tie the series BACK into continuity - after we just got used to the idea that it wasn't supposed to be part of mainstream 616 continuity.
In this case, the issue references Journey Into Mystery #97. Which means it happens earlier than other events in it's world of messed up continuity... never mind, don't try to make sense of it.
Anyway, if you want to pick up a random comic and not worry about how it relates to anything long term, maybe this is for you... of course, you're going to have to pick up next issue too, because... it's to be continued!
