    Poll Is psylocke's costume....lame? (57 votes)

    Yes 16%
    No 74%
It doesn't matter to me 11%

I just feel like her costume is almost too old school or too accurate to the comics. It's not modern enough and looks out of place given the looks of the other characters. It even seems poorly made/designed. Any other opinions?

@immolation: They should have updated it from the comics its literally the only one Singer is keeping close to source material.

It's not lame, but out of all the costumes to translate almost exactly from the comics, it's one of the silliest choices.

yeah it is a little weird that compared to Magneto, Storm and Archangel that she'd be the only one not wearing something discernible as armor aside from around the chest. Not quite sure why the designers wouldn't have translated that over more of the suit. It not like there couldn't be exposed sections to try and denote some type of flexibility, but it seems more like a desire to appease fanboys (and appropriately aligned fangirls) more than anything. Not a slam against Olivia Munn's appearance, she's an attractive woman, but doesn't fit with the rest of the attire they've been careful to craft since First Class.

My greater concern, honestly, is the horrible actress that Olivia Munn is rather than her attire. I had no problems with her as a host on G4TV (miss that channel) but being personable in that media doesn't necessarily translate to being a good actress.

On another note, at least we finally get a badass look for Magneto, though his future war-look in the last film wasn't bad either, particularly when matched up to his 70's look.

Why do people not like outfits that resemble the comics??? Yet complain when these characters don't show up??

Granted this is a question-- but comicbook outfits and visual are a big part of superhero stories.

After seeing this movie. The costume was 1000% fan servicey, and didn't line up with the actual look of the film at all. The fact that she didn't even do anything special made the costume even worse.

Kinda funny how people have crying for comic accurate costumes from the X-Men and now that they finally get it, they bash it.

Does it make sense for her to wear it? No. Does she looks cool af? Yes. Also don't blame Singer or the designers for the costume it was Olivia who wanted to have the exact costume.

I think it has more to do with the contrast in tone/design compared to the rest of that world rather than complaining about finally getting a comic accurate costume. No other character in the XMCU has a comic accurate costume, except Magneto, come to think of it, but his at least makes just as much sense as everyone elses (barring the cape). Then you've got Psylocke running around in a perfect comic adaptation. Said adaptation being an admittedly nice swimsuit, some thigh high boots, gloves, and some kind of straps. Compared to everyone else, whose wearing leather and armor. It's kinda like if Plastic Man, in a perfect adaptation of his barefoot, V-neck, bright red unitard appeared in the DCEU alongside heavily armored Batman, Wonder Woman, and muted Superman. Would look weird as hell, yeah?

Whereas if the other characters in the X-Men movies wore comic book accurate costumes, no one would bat an eye, probably: If Wolverine was running around in a version of his black and yellow costume (probably look a bit similar to Captain America's movie uniform in design/texture), and everyone else was dressed similarly to their comic counterparts, Psylocke looking the same would be perfectly fine and everyone would be happy.

But because they've stuck to the leather and armor approach, her being the one character who looks like she stepped out of a comic looks kinda weird. That said, I don't mind it, personally. The closer they can get to the comics, the better in my books. Even if it's only one character.
