There are some great concepts about this book that I enjoy a lot. I totally dig the idea of an all female X-Men book. I tension from the perceived leaders of this team (Rachel and Ororo) is a concept that has been used before in the past yet Brian Wood writes in a way that it makes it fresh. I have only been getting Marvel comics for eighteen months and these two ladies are quickly becoming two of my favorite characters. I want to start this by saying I am not reading Battle of the Atom. I did not have the extra cash for all the tie-in crossovers and stand alone issues to the event, so I am just sticking with my monthly X-Men pickup. X-Men issue 5 is clearly entrenched in the middle of this event. Because I am not reading it, it makes it difficult to review this issue.
