    X-Force

    Team » X-Force appears in 1999 issues.

When Cable reformed the New Mutants, he made them his soldiers. They became a mutant "black ops" team, assigned to kill not just the enemies of the X-Men, but of all mutantkind. Although this team eventually disbanded, the X-Force moniker has persisted in successive iterations of more and more aggressive X-teams.

    Unscripted: X-Force #27

Have to disagree with G-Man on the issue of Storm having her say... sure she may have left and gotten married and lives in Wakanda. However, Second Coming deals with the remaining mutant population in the world and Storm is a mutant...
I just find it unusual that few have questioned Cyclops decisions and his approach to the whole situation... and everyone that has questioned him is either no longer around or seems to get shot down...

I blame that piece of the Void thats trapped in Cyclops!

This creative team owns. Completely. The art made this issue for me, and made me forget some of my recent issues with "Second Coming." Good review, guys.

There was a chapter done in the Negima! manga where there was no dialog. It was pretty funny and well done.

I respect that Storm expresses her opinion of X-Force, but really. The X-Men don't have the luxury of the protections that Wakanada has. She should be heard out.

Oh, my word! Hope looks like a teenager there.

While Babs looks extremely adorable. The whole review I kept expecting woodland critters to walk around.

I thought Storm's dialogue with Scott was the best part of this issue aside from the first few pages. This is a long time coming.

For whatever reason, writers have gotten into the habit of proclaiming Scott the be-all, end-all X-man but he's left plenty of times. First to mourn Jean and chop wood in Alaska then again to form X-Factor and the period- both times turning his back on the X-men. Storm, on the other hand, led the X-men when they were possibly their most successful and iconic, that she's been so hush hush is crime on the part of the editors.

The same woman who kicked Scott's arse powerless and with a belt as her only weapon has been sitting pretty for far too long. She can say whatever she wants at this point and if that means she has to pummel Scott once again to attain leadership-COOL.

Did you guys not read the issue where Nightcrawler had his funeral?
Storm and Beast came to honor his death. Then they were attacked and beast/storm stayed to help.
Shows how much you care about Second Coming.
PS i wasnt trying to give you attitude. My writing just comes off like that sometimes.

@jordama:  I was wondering the same thing, the face says it's luke cage, the uni says it's bishop, continuity says it's neither! I'm wondering if he is a shout out to a real life person like the appearance of the Lance Briggs jersey in this X-Force issue.

Storm and Namor's story in Nation X is pretty telling on how strong her feelings and responsibilities toward the X-Men and mutantkind still are.

I was wondering about the whole killing issue, I guess its building to that though.  Because in the beginning didn't the X-men even take an oath never to kill anyone?  And now they kill people right and left.  So I guess its coming to that, where they have to address this.
And then Cyclops will be out and Emma will lead the X-men until she tries to attack Asguard and is replaced by Storm or something.   Kidding.

Silent issues are fantastic. The artists have to stretch to fill more space, the writers have to be far more descriptive for the artists, and they are more of a joy to read!

Suppose ill go pick this up tomorrow. It will be the first "xmen" title i've bought in many a years.

I'm in love with second coming. I can't get enough of this. And I'm a huge Nightcrawler fan, so this has been a gripping read. Also, I was never a huge Namor fan before he became an X-man, but he is such an awesome character.

I can't wait to see what happens with X-force and the rest of the mutants, but I'm starting to get a little bummed that all of my favorites are out of commission (Iceman, Nightcrawler, etc.)

@jordama: Psylocke looks like she belongs in The Runaways in that picture.  lol

As for this issue, I agree that the art in the X-Force stuff has been EXCELLENT!  Specifically, there's a scene where a particular character has something particular happen to them, and there is forced perspective being used with blur in the background while you see the reaction to this particular thing happening to this character.  It's telling how good the art is when even a BLURRED BACKGROUND shows a ton of emotion in it!!!

I really wish the whole series was being done by this team, as they feel like the right guys to be doing ALL of it.

Also, this means we're one issue away before the team of Yost and Kyle are done with the series...and X-Force gets cancelled!!!  SAD!!!

Storm and Beast were there for Nightcrawler's funeral...
Storm was one of the best team X-Men leaders so I guess she is entitled to her opinion... Exept I do see what you mean about the her not being there anymore...

Can I just start a pettition now and say that I want Chris Yost, Greg Kyle, Mike Choi and Sonia Obak to do all the X-Men titles.... please.
    They are usually the best!

I haven't read this issue, but I really want to!
Although silent issues are somewhat on my" doubt" list... I made a review on Ultimate Spider-Man's last issue, which was silent and talked about how silence is supposed to be done to enoke emotion trhough the art... so yeah... but I'll give my full opinion once I read this...

I gave this book a 5 in my review as well.  It's okay to say that this team is better than any book that has Greg Land or Faction on it, really it's okay.  This book I expected to be good, the real suprise this week for me was how good the Dazzler and Blind Science issues were.

By the way, how long does it take you to put up your wll each week with the current issues?

    Iceman getting burns... ironic
    Namor bleeding... rare
Armor bleeding... Nimrods don't have psychic attacks do they?
Hellion... even a powerless human can kick his a$$
... sometimes i wish Cyclops would just let the Void out so that Storm would have a good reason to fry him ^_^

" I thought Storm's dialogue with Scott was the best part of this issue aside from the first few pages. "

    I agree with that too!

I have to agree with Tony and Babs on this one- it was a REALLY great issue.
X-Force has been one of my favorite titles in recent months, and I think this latest installment is no exception
great art, amazing atmosphere, and (the one thing I like MOST about X-Force) a sense of gravity!
as brutal as they act and as black and red and leather as their costumes are, the members of X-Force (Scott included) somehow remain mindful of the ramifictions of their actions
they kill, and they have killed....A LOT, and I love seeing them struggle to keep it secret and getting to watch Scott make decisions that overextend the grasp of his leadership of the X-Men
alos, on a somewhat related topic
......is anyone else worried about the Void?
I mean, if Storm and everyone else start chipping away at Scott's mental state and riding him about his secret little team of murderers, with as uptight as he usually is AND how much stress he's in....dont' you think that could be enough to release his/Emma's hold on the Void?
because an angry, roided-up, Voided-out Cyclops is the last thing we need
