In Latveria, Castle Doom has vanished, and Sunspot, Warpath and Caliban wonder where their teammates are.

The rest of X-Force (Cable, Shatterstar, Siryn, Meltdown and Rictor, accompanied by Nathaniel Richards, Dimitri Fortunov, G. W. Bridge and two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents) determine that Dr. Doom's Time Platform has transported the entire castle back to 1941. They learn that Baron Sabbat (Latveria's ruler and Dimitri's grandfather) has agreed to host Baron Strucker and his scientists in exchange for being left alone by Nazi Germany. Strucker is attempting to build a device called the Storm-Catcher designed to collect cosmic energy. The heroes also discover that they are mostly physically insubstantial, and some occupants see them as ghosts.

Cable and Richards surmise that the Storm-Catcher is interfering with the Time Platform, preventing their return to the present. When the Nazis reveal their intention to kill the Baron and take over Latveria, Shatterstar, Meltdown and Dimitri go to the rescue, while Siryn and Rictor attack Strucker and destroy the Storm-Catcher. Cable activates the Platform, returning X-Force, their companions and the Castle back to the present.

Despite Bridge's protests, Cable disables the Platform. Bridge threatens to arrest Cable, but backs down in deference to their past. Meanwhile, Richards broods about some future conflict with Cable.
