Over a decade later, this underrated series is a surprisingly good read. This line up of X-Factor seems to be plagued by numerous internal problems, even for a 90's superhero team. The character of Haven is more than just a throwaway villain, she's an awfully convincing powerhouse who's after a utopia achieved via unorthodox and despicable means. The most interesting thing about this issue, is the trouble Alex Summers is in. He leads a team of heroes that don't always gel well together. Additionally, Haven is quite the persuasive villainess so he's also doing his best to fend off the temptations that she presents for the team of mutants. On top of that, we can't forget that also in the thick of this situation is his teammate and wife, Polaris, for whom readers will see occasional flashes of his protective, but loving nature.
