    Second Coming Revelations

I still don’t care for DeLandro’s art in this book, especially the way Darwin almost looks like Mr Locke from lost in one panel, then a member of Dick Tracy’s rogues gallery in the next, then any panel that isn’t a close up he looks like we all expect him too.   Strong Guy’s new look is still among one of my gripes with this issue, the costume and the press on eye shield just doesn’t look right to me.

All I could think of when I read this issue was, “Wow, Madrox is smart.”   Truthfully David is smart and he continues to impress with quality stories and a script that maneuvers their adversity in a way that you can tell was well thought out and makes sense.

I think it is interesting to see Baron Mordo worked into this story, I don’t think Bastion counted on pissing him off with his plan, and I think we will see a pay-off in the near future regarding that story.   Also notable is how awesome Layla Miller has become, using her knowledge was one thing, but watching her abuse some troopers with Doom-tech was actually awesome.   Nice to see Shatterstar is still a major player on the roster as well.

This is an action packed issue that keeps developing, and in the end will probably be great.   If you are ignoring this part of Second Coming because it isn’t involved in the main story you are definitely missing out on some quality story craft.

Shatterstar's surprise introduction, where he calmly skewers an MRD agent, was wonderfully macabre in its black humor. The part where Banshee flings some goons at the MRD's own tranq darts, only from them to fly around them to get at her, was a great series of surprises. I also liked...
