    The Original Wrath

On June 26th, the exact same night Bruce Wayne became an orphan, another young boy watched his parents gunned down. When a rookie cop, James Gordon, shot and killed two would-be burglars as they attempted to rob a warehouse full of stereo equipment a series of events began that would create a dark, mirror-image of Batman. While Wayne would study and train to become crime's greatest enemy, this boy would be bounced around the foster care system and embrace the darkness the Batman would oppose.

He chose to style his costume after the Batman to get under the skin of the man he blamed for the death of his parents. He saw Gordon as a cold-blooded killer even though he had only shot in self-defense after first being shot. Taking the name of Wrath he made a name for himself by killing cops for hire. This is how he met Grayle Hudson, daughter of a mob-boss that had been killed by the police. She hired Wrath to kill her father's killer and ended up falling in love with him.

Wrath finally sets his sights on Gordon himself, making a run-in with Batman inevitable. Wrath makes several failed attempts to kill Gordon before deducing Batman's alter-ego. He defiles the gave site of Thomas and Martha Wayne to lure Bruce away from the mansion in order to beat Alfred. Wrath then abducts Leslie Thompkins and offers and exchange for Gordon. Batman brings Gordon to a rooftop and Wrath wastes no time shooting him, finally avenging his parents in his eyes. Gordon's death was, or course, a ruse and Wrath and Batman fought to a near draw. Wrath inadvertently started a fire when an incendiary device was knocked from his hands. He fell into this fire and over the side of the roof to his death.

His true identity is never revealed.

    Wrath & Scorn

Wrath and his sidekick, Scorn appear in an episode of The Batman entitled: The End of the Bat.

William and Andy Mallory's parents had been jewel thieves who were sent to jail around the same time that Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered. Since then, the younger Mallorys had become friends with Wayne and his ward Dick Grayson. Resenting the Batman's targeting criminals like their parents "just trying to earn a living," they became Wrath and Scorn, an evil analogue of the Bat-team to aid Gotham's villain community. They first appeared to prevent Batman and Robin from catching Penguin and were reported to have helped Killer Croc escape.

On the night of Gotham's Million Dollar Fun Ball, a lottery jackpot that the Joker plotted to steal, Wrath and Scorn attacked Batman and Robin so as to allow Joker to get away. Wrath later met with Joker, Penguin, Killer Croc, and the Ventriloquist & Scarface and offered his help to steal money engraving plates that were being delivered. Wrath and Scorn later delayed the police with an explosion when Batman and Robin arrived. Around this time, Batman and Wrath discovered each other's secret identities. When police backup arrived, Wrath and Scorn escaped with the other villains. They found the Batcave and attacked Batman and Robin, and soon started to destroy the Batcave. Batman used one of his utility belt devices to summon bats to help. Wrath and Scorn ended up defeated in the end, but threatened to reveal Batman's and Robin's true identities to every criminal in prison. Just as they were about to be carted off to jail, Joker infected Wrath and Scorn with his laugh gas, asserting that destroying Batman is his job alone. This left them helpless, giggling lunatics and prevented them from getting a chance to reveal Batman and Robin's identities.
