    Wonder Woman

Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8808 issues.

The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.

Interested in reading more with this character. How was the new 52 run? Also if you have any other/better options that would be great. I've always been super into Greek mythology from what I hear they had a lot of that in the new 52 run

I'd suggest starting with the first Wonder Woman run by Marston and the Messner-Loebs run; if you're only looking for deep Greek Mythology stuff, try the George Perez run, followed by Rucka 1.0, the JMS/Hester run, followed by the New-52 run by Azzarello and Finch.

@comic_bruh777: Beware though. The Greek mythology in Wonder Woman isn't the same as the classical version that you learned in school or saw in movies.

The new 52 didn't sit well with many old-time Wonder Woman readers, understandably, but I think it's the best jumping-off point for new Wonder Woman readers whereas some may find Perez a bit stuffy. Also Wonder Woman: Earth 1.

Greg Rucka's Hiketeia is probably the best option. It's a very well written standalone GN that explores mythology elements we don't see very often.

If you want something more lengthy, go for Azzarello's new 52. It's not the classic Wonder Woman, she is like a different character sometimes, but the mythology work is awesome and feels very fresh.
