Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8805 issues.

The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.

@scorpio_cassadine: Simone broke Rule 6 with Genocide yet she's considered to have written one of the last good WW runs before the New 52.

You made that up lol Gail Simone's run was a mess. It's kind of weird how none of my favorite Wonder Woman stories have been written by a woman. I liked Shea Fontana okay but nobody else did. Jodi Picoult wrote great dialogue but her superhero storytelling was lacking. I hope that's not the case with G. Willow Wilson but I fear it may be.

A large number of Wonder Woman fans regard Simone's run as one of the best on the character. You're free to dislike it but you can't say they don't like it because based on the blogs and posts online, they do. As for Wilson, I can forewarn you that her superhero storytelling is lacking. She prefers the humanised grounded approach which may not suit your tastes on Wonder Woman.

We will give her a pass since she didn't break so many other rules like many writers after her.

? The Genocide arc wasn't even her best work with Diana, that was The Circle.

I was referring to her run in general, though you're right The Circle is her best arc.

Actually, calling Simone's run a mess is perfectly valid because it was pretty much just a long list of short stories with very little connective tissue between much of it.

-Whahey, Diana's off with her Conan companion to fight a demon in a fantasy world and her hands gone funny.

-Whoosh, she's fighting the Queen of Fables again in some underlying swipe at 'selling out'.

-Boom, now we have her fighting off an evil quartet of Amazons that came out of nowhere if not outer space.

-Blob, and now she can fight a rampaging plotdevice that was kneecapped by editorial and called Genocide.

And does any of that have anything to connect each other... not a damn thing.

I have to respectfully disagree bruh. I was on the boards at the time, by the end Gail had lost all support except from her most ardent fans and even they had to make excuses for why the book wasn't good. It started when she said she had a great idea to turn the sales slide around, that idea was Rise of the Olympian and it landed with a resounding thud. Then she ended the unpopular relationship with Nemesis in a way that left most of us scratching our heads and looking at Diana and Hippolyta sideways because they were both written so out of character. ("Babies, Babies, BABIES!" - a line Hippolyta would never say) Then came the crossover with the Secret Six where Diana was utterly disrespected and Artemis cried and begged Diana for forgiveness - something she would never do. There were so many hoakie elements like the gorillas and bad jokes and pacing problems and editorial interference with good reason...like I said it was a mess. Hindsight doesn't even make it seem better.
