Hulk is OP because Banner worked on some kind of super soldier serum which increase physical abilities combined with gamma it affects Banner the way he's already now, plus we know some of his strength comes from his anger.

We know she's from a strong race but just every Greek god appear and give her their powers just because they wanted to, is something silly.

@michaelbn: Technically she is currently the daughter of Zeus and thus a demigodess. As a result she should be powerful. If anything she should be more so than she currently is. If the solar battery thing is enough to justify Clark's then this is more than enough.

In Rebirth her origin is a confusing mixture of the original and the new but if you read it, you'll see that it was to help her with her mission in "man's world". In order to fight Ares and other threats she needs to be powerful.

She's either a demigodess/ a being designed by gods and thus should be more powerful than she is. She was also destined to fight Ares and other god level threats.

She also needs to be powerful character-wise. She's DC's premiere Warrior. She needs to live up to the title of greatest fighter and thus needs to be the most capable combatant on the JL. It's the purpose she serves. On a team with The Flash and Clark, she needs to be capable of fighting at their level and possibly higher.

They literally explain it. She was rewarded super powers by her gods as a result of winning their contest. This type of thing happens in all manner of myth and fantasy stories. It's no more nonsensical than any other reason for super powered characters being so powerful.
