We keep hearing more and more rumors about Man of Steel's sequel. Just the other day there was talk about Doomsday being in the film, but obviously we have to take all rumors with a grain of salt. Over the past several months, there's been a lot of chatter about Wonder Woman potentially making an appearance, but now it looks like the iconic character will really be in the movie! According to Variety, Fast Five actress Gal Gadot will become the DC cinematic version of Diana Prince!

No word on how big of a role the Amazon will play in the film, but regardless, it's very awesome to see the DC cinematic universe will be expanding and this is a character who definitely deserves a spot on the big screen. Director Zack Snyder shared his opinion of the character.

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character,”

Man of Steel's sequel is scheduled to open in 2015 (tentatively set at July 17, 2015) and will be co-written by David S. Goyer and director Zack Snyder.

When I read somewhere that the mma female champion from that Stephen soderbug (not sure how to spell his name) film was interested I thought, that would be good casting. She was perfect. This lady... eh?

Well let's be honest, she's not Jaimie Alexander, so she was never going to live up to my expectation.

Do I like the fact she's unknown? Yes.

Is she a good actress? No idea.

Is she gorgeous? Yes.

Does she have the physique to be Wonder Woman? At this moment no. She best get a personal trainer.

To be totally honest, I don't know this actress very well. And I don't remember her much from the Fast and Furious films, but I am happy that Wonder Woman will at least cameo in the film. Good to see WB listening to the fans.

I wish this actress the best of luck with this big, important role.

Should we allow Cavill's Superman the necessary time to let his character grow and mature? Should we allow the Batman franchise time to rest and regroup for the next generation? Should we give the character of Wonder Woman the respect it deserves with her own movie? NOPE! We're DC Entertainment and we want that Avengers money!

I'm on board. I only vaguely remember her in The Fast and Furious. But she looks the part well enough and I'm confident that she was cast for a good reason. Looking forward to the first shots of her in-costume!

So what I learned today is that you're stuck with the body type you were born with and can't possibly change it in any way. Nope, can't get fatter, or skinnier or more muscular.

Don't know enough about her to comment if she's capable or not to hold of an WW franchise on her shoulders or not. A pretty unknown to the masses, which doesn't translate as a bad casting. WB/DC usally makes good casting calls. Gadot however has the WW/greek look to her so if she just starts exersicing for the roll and have the acting chops this will be a homerun.

I think she can pull off Greek vibe. Anything else - just wait and see, I guess...

thats why im not having a fit about it because im just glad we are finally going to have wonder woman on screen. as i said before nothing against the actress but like you said she wouldnt be my first choice either.

Mixed feelings. I'm excited for a DC cinematic universe, and I wish the movies were happening faster, like Marvel who puts out 2 films a year, so I don't have to wait, but this news feels like rushing it. I loved the idea of a Batman/Superman movie because doing a two person team up before the full blown team movie would have made its plan different from Marvel and The Avengers. Now that the film has all 3, it's basically already The Justice League, which means basically doing the Marvel formula, except skipping the part where you introduce characters individually. I'm still happy that at least that much is happening, but I would have really preferred news of a Wonder Woman movie on her own coming out. Especially since it's already strongly rumored that we're getting a Flash movie the following year. Flash gets a movie before Wonder Woman? Really?

they have to start somewhere though. i do wonder if she will just be diana the love interest or she will be in full costume. becaus ei thought i heard a rumor diana is just a love interest for bruce i believe.

Faora worked well under Snyder. Gadot/WW will as well.

The issue of her weight and muscle:

She will work out just like Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck did for the roles so please calm down. The way Zach described Wonder Woman in his comments it sounds like she will be muscular but if there is negative response that means there is passion for the character so i'm excited hopefully you guys can all be too.

yea and hopefully now the anti snyder crowd will now appreciate what the man is trying to do. lets be honest would wonder woman even be thought of or batman in a mos steel film if not for snyder?
