The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.
Um IIRC I think Diana used a similar weapon when she took it from Olympus' armoury of god weapons. But it's inconsistent with what's going on in her own series as she's not wielding any god tier weapons there.
Since Hitch is writing the Rebirth issue I will make a wild guess that she might have took it from the Olympus armory in the previous JLA volume that was again written by Bryan Hitch. She took the Trident of Poseidon and gave it to Arthur, so she might as well have taken the Bolt of Zeus also.
@rayray1127: Looks like the sloppy art is coming from Brian Hitch who does enjoy that Top Notch/Well known status but the look of this art is very very dry. . . a continuation of Hitch's JLA series that I haven't read yet. . .
@rayray1127: Bryan Hitch. I should have paid more attention to the solicitations because I wasn't thrilled to find out he was doing story AND art for this Rebirth issue.
The series is supposed to have a different artist when it actually starts with issue #1. If only it could get a different writer as well.
