razzatazz's Wonder Woman #38 - Warkiller, Part 3 of 4: After the Fire review

    All hands

Comic book writing doesn't get much better than this.  There is an excellent plot setting the pace, fun action sequences and well defined characters that are almost archetypes of what to expect from a classical story (coincidentally there are many classical heroes here.)  Diana is in a holding cell while others have plans either to free her or to execute her.  Two of the others to bear the name of Wonder Woman (Donna and Artemis) have plans to get her free, but Diana herself does not wish freedom as it would be at the expense of her mother's life.  Meanwhile the classical heroes are starting to debate what it is that they are doing.  At the end there is some betrayal and the return of an old enemy caps off this excellent issue.

Diana's not even coordinating an attack  with her most trusted friends against her enemies on Paradise Island as she remains a prisoner so long as her mother is a captive in unknown parts of the island. I'm also confused as to what the surprise guest villain has to do with...
