    What A Disappointment!

The conclusion of the eight part story, "Rise of the Olympian", is finally delivered with this issue. But, d@mn, this was absolutely disappointing. Past the tremendous battle of Amazons and Olympians battling sea monsters and the army of Ares, there is no clear ending. Yes, the status quo for Wonder Woman and the Amazons is indeed altered when Zeus officially proclaims the Olympians their replacements so that they can enjoy the retirement of duty that they so deserve. Fine, I can accept Diana rejecting her gods - Zeus' motivations after all are indeed selfish, and it's about time she stood up to her "benefactors". And I respect the drama of the story as the Princess leaves her mother for a final (?) time after just being reunited with her. I can even understand the future plot value of letting Achilles and the Olympians a shot at being the Gods' champions. There should have been an epic duel between the Amazing Amazon and the God of War, instead the War God allows himself to be swiftly decapitated?! WHAT?! "Rise of the Olympian" provided us with tons of action, a kick @$$ story of butt kicking Amazon Princess named Wonder Woman, but somehow ended lacking with several questions still left unanswered. I'm groping for better words to describe my unhappiness, but I continue to find my sentences simply running off ...
