Deeper struggles
This is the final issue dealing with the Adjudicator. Like the previous issue it is told in two separate but realted stories. In the first one Wonder Girl and Starfire travel to Earth I where humans are mostly immortal and where the Horseman of Death has caused the first deaths causing great suffering. Again the story sort of loses some appeal by being based on an imaginary alternate Earth, but this story was dealt with well. In the final chapter the heroines are all brought together, trapped on the Adjudicator's spaceship. The manner in which Diana escapes her confines is a bit forced, but the philosophical and psychological struggle she has with the Adjudicator to solve the problem really sets the issue above the other two in this story arc, both of which were already at a higher standard than most silver age comics anyway. This is a good arc and definitely one of the highlights of the first volume.
