This is one of the few issues I have ever seen where a hero is focused on the environment. As Diana stops an oil spill she meets Deborah Domaine, an environmental activist. The two become quick allies as they talk about saving the planet from environmental harm.
Deborah is later kidnapped and brainwashed by an unknown villain who is intending that she become the new Cheetah.
There is a kind of pointless sub plot about how Diana and Wonder Woman have both agreed to date separate people on the same night which never really gets resolved. I liked the issue, it is pretty rare that we see an issue which focuses on something which affects us all. The backup story with Huntress and Power Girl against the Thinker was decent as well.
It appears DC had plans for this Cheetah, but they were cut short by the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Kobra turned Priscilla Rich's niece into the new Cheetah in this issue, then she appeared in the subsequent issue, as part of the Secret Society of Super-Villains in three JLA issues, and in WW #323 (there's just a cameo in CoIEs).
