lol I'm pretty sure he isn't called Wolverine because of his costume but because he is small, hairy, and ferocious like his namesake

@deathpoolthet1000: His costume got the Yellow and gold color scheme because his creator was a Michigan State Wolverines fan, there is also a possibility that's where the idea for the character originated. The first part is confirmed, the second part is just implied.

Because of the tibetan blue bears and red bears that are actually orange.

@deathpoolthet1000: I doubt that's the reasoning, but my point is the Michigan State team uses those colors because they are the school colors, it has nothing to do with the animal.

@deathpoolthet1000: Wolverines original mask had much smaller "horns" and whisker patterns that were actually somewhat reminiscent of A wolverine's face. Dave Cockrum drew Wolverine's iconic costume with the larger protrusions by mistake and they decided to stick with it because it looked cooler.

Well to me his Hulk 180 costume looks more like a cat.

lol It's funny how ridiculous comic costumes(some) look on screen. I can see why they wouldn't on some characters.
