Someone's stolen Japan's most powerful weapon: the mighty Red Ronin! Now Wolverine, Yukio and Sunfire must unite to prevent the total destruction of the Far East!

    Location: Japan

Wolverine is sitting before the grave of his beloved Mariko Yashida and contemplating his past. He is lost in his thoughts, when suddenly he picks up a familiar scent. He whirls 'round to see the Silver Samurai. Wolverine gets ready to attack but Silver Samurai stops him by saying that he is not here to fight. He says that the Japanese Government has captured Sunfire, after he recently lost control over his powers, almost blowing up Manhattan.

Meanwhile, Bastion (head of Operation: Zero-Tolerance) addresses the leaders of Japan. He shows them a hologram of Sunfire's latest failure in Manhattan. The Leaders get annoyed, saying that Japan can handle its own problems. Bastion says that there lies only a major distinction : Homo-Superior and Homo-Sapien, and that the latter must survive, whatever it takes. When the leaders are confused, Bastion urges them to activate the giant robot, Red Ronin, which was once built to protect Earth, now against the mutant threat.

Inside the Fujikawa Industries, the staff are arguing about whether the Government is right in its decision to re-activate the Red Ronin. Some say 'yes' while others say 'no'. Yukio overhears their conversation and she plans to get the Red Ronin for herself.

Meanwhile, outside a major military installation in Tokyo, Wolverine and Silver Samurai line up to free Sunfire. They get inside the building and eliminate the little resistance, before freeing Sunfire. Sunfire is initially not happy to see the Silver Samurai but when Wolverine informs him about the change of plans, he powers down and later carries them out to safety.

Silver Samurai fills them in on the details of the Government's plans to re-activate Red Ronin. He tells them that The Hand will be trying to make a move to steal the robot. So they must either defeat their opponents or destroy the robot. Wolverine does not believe him and plans to check it out for himself.

Wolverine reaches Fujikawa Industries and runs into Yukio. She tells him to follow her and both stop behind some chimneys, only to see the ninjas of The Hand leaping about in the shadows. Yukio informs Logan that The Hand, Clan Yashida and the Government all want in at the same time on the Red Ronin project.

Wolverine starts taking out the ninjas, when suddenly the Red Ronin is activated. It begins to step forward. Logan and Yukio hang on for dear life, while the members of The Hand are not so lucky. Wolverine slips and starts falling, but is rescued by Sunfire. He tells Sunfire to set him down on Red Ronin's head and Sunfire complies. The Ronin is already aware of the movements and attacks them. Sunfire burns through its hand, but the robot detaches a forearm which traps Sunfire and tries to crush him.

Wolverine takes advantage of the robot's distraction and gets inside it. He is immediately attacked by a laser crossfire. Logan sees a circuit board named "the heart". He manages to evade the lasers and shreds the board. The robot stops moving due to the damage.

Meanwhile, the robot's fist still crushes Sunfire. He releases a large amount of power to get free. But he starts losing control. Wolverine steps in and holds him tight, even though the heat burns his skin. He yells at Sunfire, telling him to fight back. Sunfire eventually manages to power down.

The next day, reports of the incident are broadcast on television. Silver Samurai returns to his den, and prays at the altar of the Yashida Blade for strength and guidance; Logan wants to help Sunfire and plans a trip to Canada to meet up with Logan's friends, while the robot's controller is apparently exterminated according to Bastion's plans.
