In the oversized debut issue of the new ongoing flagship X-series, Wolverine takes one half of the X-Men back to Westchester to start over again. But the new Hellfire Club outlast its first day? SCHISM tore them apart, but can Wolverine lead the new Children of the Atom into the future? Join Marvel Architect Jason Aaron (X-MEN: SCHISM, WOLVERINE) and legendary X-Artist Chris Bachalo (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, GENERATION X) for a brand new action-packed take on the X-Men that will set a new standard for the Children of the Atom.

    Plot

As Wolverine gives Professor Xavier a tour of the renovated Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, now called Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, the professor expresses how he does not want to help overlooking the school since it is Logan's time shine.

On his first day as Headmaster Logan, state inspectors arrive at the newly built mansion that Beast designed. Received by Logan and Headmistress Kitty Pryde the inspection begins with some indirect mutant-slurs and insinuations on Kitty and Logan's education and capacities as instructors. After witnessing the activities in the Psychic Self-Defense class, taught by Rachel Grey, and the Introduction to Mutant Literature, taught by Husk, the inspectors were not impressed.

The inspectors were then introduced to Toad, the school's janitor, only to have Wolverine encounter an act of bullying by Glob Herman and Hellion. The newest student at the school, Broo, was being picked on for his appearance and the fact that he's not a mutant. Headmaster Logan did not let Glob and Julian get away with this. After arriving on the scene the two bullies fled to the restroom where Logan activates the mansion-wide Danger Room to teach them a lesson. When the inspectors realize that the mansion is a huge deathtrap that can be centered in specific rooms like the bathroom, the first impression is worse.

"I do not place much faith in the intellectual capacity of someone whose brain I have just seen pass through solid steel."

In attempt to turn everything around, Logan introduced Oya to the inspectors as the school's star pupil. The problem is that Idie oes not help the school's case when she calls mutants monsters and the fact that they do not deserve to be treated as well as they are at the school. It is clear, of course, that this is not as bad as having Kid Omega loose, which is why he was taken to detention where he is overlooked by Lockheed. With all the problems that they have been having, Logan and Kitty hoped that Beast would be the one who made things right with the inspectors.

At the Main Control Room Dr. Hank McCoy does not help the school's inspection at all. He ignores the headmasters and inspectors completely as he tries to solve an internal crisis that involves interdimensional gremlins. During the non-polite introduction with Vice Principal McCoy, he throws a coffee pot at one of the inspectors. Kitty Pryde phases the inspector to save her from the flying glass pot which only makes her get sick and throw up. Beast leaves to receive an interstellar shipment of Shi'ar tech and along arrives Kid Gladiator, the new Shi'ar student, and Warbird, his bodyguard.

Just when everything can not get worse things go horribly wrong. Bookkeeper and Senior Staff Member, Iceman, arrives on the scene to tell Logan that a kid has arrived to see him. The kid is Kade Kilgore, the Black King of the new all-children-run Hellfire Club. He comes to the school to come clean to Wolverine about being behind the Sentinel attack at Utopia during the X-Men's schism and to tell him he is will destroy everything he's built. In disbelief Logan leaves just to find the inspectors running away from interdimensional gremlins that resemble Nightcrawler. The Bamfs have gotten loose, the inspectors have had enough and have made their decision to tell the Department of Education about how dangerous the school is. At that moment the ground begins to shake, Wolverine is flung across the mansion's courtyard and a monster emerges from the ground threatening to destroy the school.

One Look At Kid Gladiator Makes Me Want to Hurt Things 0

When it comes to Wolverine and the X-Men, readers are pushed into deciding whether they have any threshold when it comes to just how quirky they want their X-Men. This is a book that goes full throttle for the silliness and is completely unapologetic about its total disregard for sense. In record time, the school in Westchester has been not only rebuilt but redesigned to a ludicrous degree as now every room is the Danger Room. Wolverine is now a headmaster. An unlikely group of X-Men are now prof...

    Wolverine Just Can't Catch a Break 0

So all us X-fans know that Wolverine took a bunch of mutants back East with him to the Jean Grey school. Some amount of time has passed and the school is up and running. However, to actually count as a school, they need the approval of the Board of Regents. So we got one of the best X-Men stories of 2011 - a comedic issue in which every single thing that can go wrong goes wrong for Wolverine and Kitty as they try to walk the inspectors around. It almost makes me wish that every issue of Wolverin...

Welcome to the X-Men NOW DIE 0

Marvel moves into a post Schism world with the start of a new ongoing, Wolverine and the X-Men. Logan has taken his X-Men home to the ruins of the old Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and has rebuilt it into the Jean Grey Institute. That’s right Logan the Wolverine is the headmaster….of a school…that teaches people things. He isn’t doing it on his own Kitty Pryde,Iceman,Beast and many others. You can’t just build a completely self sufficient school and call it a school you need the Goverments...
