In addition to work with Pink Floyd he has enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist and has worked as a record producer for many other artists. David also worked with many charities in his career. In 2003 he was appointed CBE for services to music and philanthropy and was awarded with the Outstanding Contribution at the 2008 Q awards. Powers and Abilities David Gilmour has no super human abilities but is an excellant musician. He was one of the main singers and main songwriters for Pink Floyd and was the lead guitarist after Syd Barrett left.
