Not everything listed in the origin is Canon. That is because only television shows and movies are considered canon for Star Trek. This being a comic website there are many things here that are not canon. So unless it is contradicted in film it should be listed as part of the character biography.

Ezri Dax was born Ezri Tigan the daughter of Yanas Tigan she was one of three children having two brothers Norvo Tigan and Janel Tigan. Ezri worked an Ensign in Starfleet and was on her way to becoming a promising councilor. She had no desire to become a joined Trill but fate intervened. A woman named Jadzia Dax wax killed by Dukat and when Exri's ship was transporting the symbiont from the dead Jadzia complications set in. Ezri being the only Trill aboard joined with the Trill to save it. This put her in a world she was unprepared for.

Creation

Ezri Dax was created for the television show Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and played by Nicole de Boer. At the end of the sixth season Jadzia Dax Played by Terry Farrell was killed. This was due to the Farrell who played Jadzia wanting to act in another television show and knowing that Deep Space Nine would end in one more year. Thus the Ezri character was created.

Character Evolution

Ezri was not prepared for to be joined and the multiple lives was too much for her. As a result she sought out Benjamin Sisko who had known her through multiple lives. Ezri transferred to Deep Space Nine and became the councilor for the crew and staff there. She had some hard times with people like Worf. Worf and Jadzia were married and being on the station with him so soon after Jadzia's death made things difficult. Once more is Ezri was attracted to Julian Bashir in a way that was more than Jadzia.

The love triangle between Ezri, Worf and Julian were made more difficult by the Dominion war. Ezri and Worf were able to reconcile and get past their past. This left Julian and her relation ship to grow. The two were madly in love but Ezri still had difficulties with her past lives. Even after the Dominion war.

Major Story Arcs

Divided We Fall

After the Dominion war many of the old officers had left the station. Odo was gone along with Sisko and Miles O'Brien. The station was a hollow shell of what it was but the new officer staff began to grow together. Ezri and Julian grew in their relationship but her past kept getting in the way that was particularly true when Lenara Kahn came back into her life.

After the Dominion War the Trill home world would come under attack from Trill terrorist who set out to kill joined Trill. Dax's wife from a previous life was kidnapped and held for ransom and Ezri went to save her opening wounds between the two. What Ezri didn't know was she was heading into a trap and Verad Kalon was behind it. Verad had stolen the Dax symbiont from Jadzia and nearly killed her and much of his hatred for joined Trill came from this.
