The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Warner Bros. and Fox have reached a settlement. They plan on presenting their plan to Judge Gary Feess on Friday morning and request the case to be dismissed.
I'm sure you're probably sick and tired of hearing about the case. It may have been annoying that it had to happen but I suppose it does come down to someone not doing all their homework before.
Either way, we can celebrate now.
Terms of the agreement will not be disclosed, but it is said to involve a sizable cash payment to Fox and a percentage of the film's boxoffice. Fox will not be a co-distributor on the film, nor will it own a piece of the "Watchmen" property going forward. The studios are set to release a joint statement announcing the agreement on Friday. Can I get a Hallelujah? We figured this was coming. I'm glad we don't have to wait until the 20th. We can all move forward with our lives and plan to see the movie in March.
I wonder with all this annoying court talk if people are just tired of Watchmen and have lost some of the excitement they once had? I'm sure once you're sitting in the theatre with your butter-flavored popcorn and large soda, that smile will come across your face once again.
Who watches the Watchmen? We will be...in March!
